This street scene was originally taken to capture the man sitting on the bench using a small depth of field. Another two stories are going on further down the street.
The wide ‘master’ shot shows a typical high street. Car and lorries parked on the side of the road. A row of shops. A man sitting on the bench. A lady and her son at the bus stop. A man making a supermarket delivery.
Without the master shot none of the following close ups have any context. On the other hand, although we know the 3 frames aren’t linked we could create a story connecting all 3.
Is the man asleep or has something sinister happened? Who was near him? The woman could be a hit woman. She has used the boy as cover for her real job. The man with the trolley is on on the hit and uses the trolleys to remove the body.
The man has been murdered and is slumped forward sitting on a bench.
The hit woman is leaving the scene of the crime undercover as a mum at a bus stop. She is discreetly putting away the weapon.
The hit woman’s accomplice is an undecover delivery driver and transports the body in a trolley.
